We caught up with guitarist/vocalist Joe Anderl and drummer Justin Satinover to talk football, their unlikely exposure in Sports Illustrated and on the NFL channel, working with Micah Carli, and future merchandising opportunities (look out for the 1984 Draft banana hammock?).

Story behind The 1984 Draft Podcast
In April, Dayton-based rock band The 1984 Draft will be releasing their latest EP, Bo Jackson Up The Middle, via We Want Action (84 Nash, She Bears, Tiara). The EP was recorded at Popside Studio with Micah Carli (guitarist for Hawthorne Heights) in mid-January, 2014. The band also recently shot their video for "Clear Heads Full Hearts" with director Mike Postalakis, who has done videos from Guided By Voices, DTCV, Swearing At Motorists and more.
The EP sees the light of day around the same time as NFL Channel releases a documentary on the actual 1984 NFL Draft, in which the band is featured. NFL Films captured them live in the band's hometown on January 10, 2014. The EP will be available via iTunes, Spotify, eMusic, Rhapsody, and Amazon.
